iPad 3G – MobileSMS.web
Just a quick update I now have MobileSMS.web working and wrote in PHP this allows me to send texts from the iPad easily and quickly still can't receive though
I decided this was the best route after spending what seems like an eternity pissing about with objectivec and the system call.
iPad 3G – Call support?
After taking a look at the iPad using a custom microSIM I have noticed that you can receive calls but ChatKit(?) / baseband seems to reject them automatically. I noticed this when i was trying to work out receiving SMS messages.
Probuntu, Ubuntu Pro, Dellbuntu Pro er… Whatever…
So for my mockup post...
Basically, I've already chosen a notebook for when I go to college (computer science) later this year in april. The notebook will be used for casual internet , music, IRC and messenger stuff, but also for my creative things such as porn downloading, and other projects.
Currently I'm a happy Ubuntu user (formerly Vista) and I've used it for like a small time, but I used to use Linux as my main OS back a few years (Slackware). Next to that I had used Vista for like 3 years (it worked flawlessly for my current computer) and although I've tried many Distros (from Slackware, to Debian etc..) I think Ubuntu is best for Desktop environments when it comes to development. Once I installed Ubuntu on my current desktop I fell in love, because for the first time in forever everything worked right even my graphics card. Anyway, then I remembered that Ubuntu and Dell work together to make a set of Ubuntu Notebooks which is just epic win on my end since I already love the OS. I understand that some people would prefer Windows or even Mac, but I don't need them everything I will be using the laptop for is already easily available to me.
That plus the fact that I love GNU/Linux and Open Source software, even when I ran vista I'd use any Open Source alternatives to any programs I needed if available. Anyway this is why I have decided to get the Dell Inspiron 15n with Ubuntu on it. Comes with Ubuntu 9.10 LTS but luckily since Linux is free and open source I can simply upgrade it to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS whenever I wish to. It costs $579 but I want to upgrade the battery to a 9-Cell battery so it'll be some $600 ish for the notebook, not a whole lot when compared to other Unix commercial notebook products. I sure wouldn't want to be one of those kids who spend that much money on a overpriced notebook just for college.
I sure as heck won't be dualbooting with Windows or any other OS though, if anything I'd dualboot with Debian just to go back to my fav OS though I think Ubuntu is close enough to Debian. I wont really need to do any microsoft related development anymore since I've given up on their Operating System altogether.
Anyway, not posting this to ask for any donations since I'm not a greedy cunt y'know. Just thought I'd share my plans, I will be getting it in the next few months I have about 1/2 of the budget I need to purchase it. Just posting this for future reflection from myself and such. Though I think my parents will buy me this for college, not sure yet really, if so I will keep all the money I save to build my gaming tower.
Anyway, thanks for your time whoever you are,

iRecovery++ “Terminal Support”
The other day i managed to get terminal support working in iRecovery++ i am also planning to work on a module system which should be quite easy to implement. Currently there is no "/" command support as this will be done via a module.
iPhone 4.0 beta 4
Apple are seeding os4 beta 4 to developers no change in baseband since b4 (see image).
Set up a Windows 7 Taskbar-like Dock on Ubuntu (or Debian)
I really prefer the Windows 7 Dock 'system' regardless of what anyone says. Sure there have been dock systems before Windows 7 but theirs is simple and efficient. This tutorial is for Ubuntu and Debian users (though I haven't tested on Debian but the concept is the same more or less?). Also if you have compiz you can enable the window preview (though somewhat limited) but that I leave up to the reader. Anyway, as a thought of adding a new post that is useful I thought I'd write a tutorial on what I've done recently which is install DockbarX for Gnome. I recommend you only do this if you have access to root privileges or have the root / system admin nearby to help you.
Please remember: I am not claiming to have made DockbarX nor any of the software I am showing you how to install, I am merely posting this for end-user reference all credit goes to the softwares original authors. I am merely rewriting my steps on how I installed it for anyone looking for a similar solution to what I wanted (Windows 7-like dock).
Things you will be installing:
- DockbarX
- Python (if you don't already have it, though I am sure ubuntu comes with it already) *
- Python Gnome bindings
- NumPy (not required but recommended)
* I will not show you how to do this, just use Add / Remove (now known as Ubuntu Software Center) or my favorite Synaptic Package Manager (System -> Administrator).
Well let's begin by opening up the Gnome-Terminal (press alt + f2, then type in gnome-terminal alternatively you can open the terminal in the main menu -> Accesories).
Login to root :
sudo su
It'll ask you to type in your password, just type your main accounts password (or the password you use for root access). If you're not the main administrator contact them for help.
Anyway, now it's time to install all the needed python packages:
sudo apt-get install python-gnome2-desktop python-numpy
After you've done that it's time to add DockbarX to our repo list:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dockbar-main/ppa
Now we update our repo list + install DockbarX:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install dockbarx
Okay, now all you need to do is simple, add the DockbarX Apple to whatever panel you want your new Dock on. Then you're good to go!
Then to log out of root simply type in : exit

Greetings from Sir Digiterati
Hello, I am Digiterati the current (at this written time) second author and owner of the domain. I have been 'lurking' the internet for many years now, and have been addicted to it, and I am trapped inside of this domain name, please call charley at the chocolate factory to come and save me. Meanwhile, I would like for you guys to know that the bird is the word. In other related subjects I am currently watching the big bang (theory). Great stuff, anyway my current interests lie in the Operating System of Ubuntu (GNU/Linux) and Java (TM).
